WTO rules against Boeing
The World Trade Organisation yesterday ruled that US aircraft manufacturer Boeing benefited from illegal American government subsidies, which distorted market competition. The case against Boeing was brought by the European Union in a tit-for-tat dispute after the United States challenged European Union subsidies for Airbus. The ruling, which is not going to be published for several weeks, found Boeing’s much delayed flagship 787 Dreamliner to have benefited from the subsidies.
