Wonderkid, 15, in Norway call
NORWEGIAN footballing prodigy Martin Odegaard has received his first senior international call-up at the age of just 15.
The Stromsgodset midfielder, who is said to be wanted by Europe’s major clubs including Real Madrid and Manchester United, is set to become the youngest man to play for Norway when they face the United Arab Emirates next week.
Odegaard will be 15 years and 253 days when Norway face the UAE, which would make him the second youngest man to play for a European country, and the youngest since 1866. The all-time international record is attributed to Lucas Knecht of the Northern Marianas, who played against Guam two days after his 14th birthday.
