Winds hit America’s Cup again
SAILING: America’s Cup rivals Alinghi and BMW Oracle went into today’s delayed opening race with limited preparation after strong winds ruled out yesterday’s practice
day in Valencia.
Both crews were hoping to make some crucial final preparations for the start, which was delayed from Monday due to a lack of favourable wind.
BMW Oracle did take to the water before abandoning plans to practice, while Alinghi decided against launching their catamaran. Alinghi meteorologist Jack Katzfey said. “We’ll get a race-off eventually, it just might take a while.”
