Win talk from South Pole team
PRINCE Harry and his team are due to arrive at the South Pole this afternoon having braved the Antarctic extremes to raise money for Walking With The Wounded. But the push to support ex-servicemen and women doesn’t end there. The charity is calling for City workers to do their bit by signing up to Walking Home for Christmas, travelling home on foot next Friday. Dressed2Kill is offering a suit to the longest individual walk home and now, the Walking With The Wounded team is offering a prize for the longest cumulative walk by a corporate team. The winning team will get a visit from members of the South Pole team, including expedition leader Ed Parker. The team currently in the lead is from Eddisons, which has 25 members proposing to walk to the likes of Stratford and Clapham Junction. Think you and your team can do better? ■ It’s official, Christmas jumpers are in. If you’re not wearing one, you should be. A swathe of retailers have reported bumper sales, (they’re up 900 per cent in John Lewis) – and now Christmas jumpers are hitting the headlines too, though not all for festive reasons.
(Allegedly) Naughty: Littlewoods is being sued by an Irish clothing firm which claims the retail giant stole its Xmas jumper design.
Nice: Today Save The Children is running its annual Christmas Jumper Day, which encourages people to don their festive sweaters and donate. Fiona Woolf, Lord Mayor of the City of London is wearing one. Are you wearing yours? Send your pics to thecapitalist@cityam.com
