When is Amazon Prime Day 2019? Everything you need to know
Amazon is preparing to launch its longest Prime Day ever, forming a 48-hour sales event starting at midnight on 15 July.
The two day event on 15 and 16 July, similar to a Black Friday sale, offers Prime subscribers the chance to buy products from the retailer at cut prices for a limited period.
Amazon said this year will feature the biggest discounts on its own Alexa devices to date. In previous years, Amazon’s discounts on its own hardware have effectively listed products at cost price.
The event follows last year’s 36-hour Prime Day, which despite facing a number of technical glitches at the start, levied a record number of sales.

Top sellers were the base Echo Dot, and the Fire TV stick with Alexa-powered remote control.
Other brands will also get involved in the fun with discounts and special-edition products, including Levi’s, Toshiba and e-bike maker Schwinn.
“Get ready, as we pull back the curtain to reveal exclusive products, special performances and two full days of phenomenal deals this Prime Day,” said Jeff Wilke, Amazon chief executive of its worldwide consumer division.
“Our vision is that Prime Day should be the absolute best time to be a member – when you can enjoy shopping, savings, entertainment and some of the best deals Prime members have ever seen.”
