We’ve reached peak hipster: Urban Food Fest brings the bacon to Twickenham for HSBC’s Rugby World Sevens series
There's no sign of stopping the hipster pop-up gravy train, as Shoredicth street-food seller Urban Food Fest has just partnered with HSBC to do the catering at this year's Rugby World Sevens series at Twickenham.
The HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series is returning to Twickenham for its climax and, for the first time, the chef whites have been handed over to Urban Food Fest as part of a new "Feast of Rugby" offering at the tournament.
Urban Food Fest is famous for its street food and night markets in Shoreditch and Manchester, where street food trucks and stalls serve trendy dishes from around the world (or Old Street).
Slow roasted and smoked pulled pork burgers, sweet and savoury crepes and Venezuelan maize arepas are just some of the delicacies that will be on offer over the weekend in May.
To celebrate the partnership, England's squad got busy in the kitchen with the hipster food firm.
England Rugby's Nic Fletcher said: "Working with Urban Food Fest, we will reach a new audience of adventurers and food-lovers, while adding an extra dimension onto the day for our loyal rugby fans."
