West Ham starlet Morrison refused bail over double assault allegation
WEST Ham midfielder Ravel Morrison’s future is in doubt again after he was denied bail and remanded in custody accused of assaulting his ex-girlfriend and her mother.
England Under-21 star Morrison was arrested on Wednesday following the alleged incident on Sunday morning, in which it is claimed he punched and slapped Reah Mansoor, 19, and Parveen Mansoor, 39.
The former Manchester United player is due to appear in court on 7 August, meaning he is set to miss a week of preparation with West Ham for the new football season, which starts nine days later.
Morrison, 21, has fallen in and out of favour with Hammers boss Sam Allardyce in his two and half years at the east London club, shining in the early part of last season before being sent on loan to QPR. He seemed set to be frozen out this term until Allardyce said earlier this week he could have a part to play “if he gets back to knuckling down, and getting used to the discipline side of the game”.
West Ham last night completed the signing of right-back Carl Jenkinson on loan from Arsenal.
