Weekend traffic nightmare as TfL closes lanes on Marylebone Road and Baker Street for emergency water main repairs from 8pm tonight
If you're planning on driving through London this weekend, avoid the Euston Road: Transport for London (TfL) says it will close lanes at the junction of Marylebone Road and Baker Street from 8pm tonight.
In a statement today TfL said it needs to make emergency repairs to a water main leaking into Baker Street station.
Drivers will be banned from turning right from Marylebone Street into Baker Street, while Baker Street will be reduced to one lane and there will be lane closures in both directions on Marylebone Road.
TfL said the restrictions will be in place until 6am on Monday "at the latest".
“We apologise for the disruption these emergency Thames Water works may have to the road network around Baker Street this weekend," said Garrett Emmerson, TfL's chief operating officer for surfact transport.
"The urgent nature of the work means they will work throughout the night to ensure they are complete as quickly as possible. Drivers are advised to plan ahead to avoid disruption and to leave extra time for their journeys"
