We have a team full of leaders, says Arsenal manager
ARSENAL manager Arsene Wenger has denied his side suffers from a lack of leadership.
Midfielder Denilson had been quoted yesterday in an interview given to Brazilian TV saying “Fabregas is the captain, but he is not a leader to me”.
The 22-year-old subsequently claimed he had been misquoted, while Fabregas himself insisted their is no rift between the two.
Wenger, meanwhile, who allowed Samir Nasri to wear the armband for the first time in last night’s win at Leeds, hailed Fabregas as an outstanding leader.
He said: “Cesc Fabregas is our captain and Van Persie is our vice captain, we have many leaders in our team and we are very happy with our captain. We have a shared leadership in our team but Fabregas is our captain. I believe Fabregas is an outstanding leader.”
