We can go unbeaten all tour, says Prior
ENGLAND wicketkeeper Matt Prior believes his side are displaying the sort of qualities that will help see them go undefeated for the entirety of their Ashes tour of Australia.
Prior’s unbeaten century helped England secure a draw in a tour match against Victoria at the MCG and ensured their momentum remained intact ahead of the third Test which starts on Thursday.
Prior said: “You’d like to think we can stay unbeaten. If we carry on playing the brand of cricket we have been there’s no reason why we can’t.
“It would be a fantastic feat – but something we’re certainly targeting.”
Seamers Ajmal Shahzad, Chris Tremlett and Tim Bresnan are in line to replace the injured Stuart Broad in Perth and Prior is sure any of the three are capable of stepping into the Nottinghamshire man’s shoes.
He said: “They’ve all put their hands up, and I’m sure whoever gets selected will do a great job. They all did well here on a track that gave them no help whatsoever.”
