What to watch on Thursday at the Olympics: Viewing times for Adam Gemili, Usain Bolt, Nicola Adams and Alistair Brownlee
Usain Bolt’s campaign for a historic “triple triple” enters stage two in the men’s 200m final at 2:30am on Friday morning. Team GB athletics captain Adam Gemili is expected to battle for one of the remaining podium places.
Bolt and Gemili will also race in the men’s 4x100m relay opening round for Jamaica and Great Britain, the world and European champions respectively, at at the much more reasonable time of 3:40pm. That will be followed by the men’s 400m hurdles final at 4pm.
Later that night the men’s decathlon champion will be declared following the completion of its final event, the 1500m, at 2:04am. Medal winners will also be settled in the finals of the men’s shot put, the women’s javelin, and the women’s 400m hurdles at 12:30am, 1:10am and 2:15am respectively.
In the boxing ring, Nicola Adams has already guaranteed herself a medal at this year’s Olympics, but she will find out if that will be a bronze or one of gold and silver when she takes on Chinese great Ren Cancan — the woman the Briton defeated to win the title four years ago — in the women’s flyweight semi-final.

Great Britain’s Alistair Brownlee is favourite to defend his 2012 gold in the men’s triathlon which starts at 3pm. Should he do so, he would become the first person to win back-to-back golds in the swimming-cycling-running race. Brother Jonathan, who won bronze in London, is one of the contenders to steal his crown.
Sailing has already contributed medals to Team GB’s impressive tally so far. More are on offer in the men’s 49er at 5:05pm and the women’s 49erFX at 6:05pm.
Taekwondo athlete Jade Jones, former Wales sports personality of the year and gold medallist in 2012, is aiming for another medal in Rio but must first defeat Morocco’s Naima Bakkal in the round of 16 at 2:30pm.
