The Waitrose Christmas advert is here: Move over Buster, there’s a plucky little Robin giving you all the feels
The bouncing boxer dog of the John Lewis Christmas advert has a rival: a tiny Robin braving wild weather and perilous predators to return to a young girl's festive home.
The Waitrose Christmas advert has been revealed, and while never quite matching up to the much-hyped John Lewis one before, this year that might just change with its beautiful effects and short, sweet and some may say emotional story (or maybe it's just been a long week).

While Buster the Boxer bouncing on a trampoline on Christmas day brought laughter, Waitrose has stolen the Christmas feels in the ad stakes… so far, at least.
It leaves us with just one question – should you really be feeding mince pies to birds? Apparently, yes, according to the RSPB, though, that's a lucky bird getting a Waitrose one.

“Coming home is a central theme at Christmas when welcoming, hosting and providing a special meal for loved ones is at the heart of celebrations," said Waitrose boss Rupert Thomas.

"Sharing the best possible food and drink with family and friends is one of the great joys of the festive period and we hope that the determination of our robin resonates with viewers as they follow his journey back to where he belongs. It’s a story of love, courage and the importance of enjoyment with family and friends.”
The ad will air on TV on Sunday night's X Factor results show and there will be a book telling the story of the plucky little Robin's epic journey.
