Van Persie committed to United
MANCHESTER United striker Robin van Persie last night quashed speculation he is looking to leave this summer and backed manager David Moyes to turn around the club’s fortunes.
The 30-year-old moved from Arsenal in a £24m deal two years ago, but was said to have grown frustrated with a difficult season on the field which has seen last year’s Premier League champions slump to sixth in the table.
But Van Persie said: “The truth is I’m very happy at this club. I signed for four years and I’d be delighted to stay even longer.
“Moyes’ sessions and the things he says in his team meetings are spot-on. I really enjoy working under him and I’m absolutely convinced things will pick up.”
