Van Gaal wants a killer instinct
FORTHRIGHT Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has urged his side to develop a ruthless streak ahead of their clash with West Brom at the Hawthorns tonight.
The Red Devils head into the fixture buoyed by a return to form but were forced to hang on towards the end of nervy home victories over West Ham and Everton.
Spain midfielder Ander Herrera, Chris Smalling, Ashley Young, Phil Jones and Michael Carrick could all feature after recovering from injury although skipper Wayne Rooney is suspended, with Van Gaal demanding tactician rigidity.
“To kill a game you need a lot of discipline, and discipline together, not with three players or eight, but with 11,” said Van Gaal. “That is the most difficult thing and we can do that, but that needs time.
“The players are willing to do everything but you have to do it in the right way. It is not so difficult to analyse, to improve is much more difficult and that is what we are looking for.”
