US private bank Atlas makes push into Europe
US PRIVATE banking group Atlas One has appointed a senior fixed income banker, Brian Lazell, to run its new London-based office as it widens the scope of its European operations.
Atlas is seeking to use its own private bank, which has $1.5bn assets under management, as a client base. Other clients the firm conducts trades for are Latin American and regional US mid market companies. “We will look to adopt a similar strategy in Europe over time,” Lazell said. Since the credit crunch there has been a flow of senior bankers re-emerging at boutiques or private banking groups.
Heritage Capital, the investment banking subsidiary of the Swiss-domiciled private bank Banque Heritage has the former Dresdner capital markets origination chief, Joe Dryer, running its London operation.
Lazell is ex-Renaissance Capital, leaving in 2008 having worked there for three years as head of debt products and previously was at BNP Paribas.
