US ambassador to Libya killed
BARACK Obama has promised to bring to justice the killers of the US ambassador to Libya and three other American embassy staff. Chris Stevens (pictured) was killed late on Tuesday night in an attack on the US consulate in the eastern city of Benghazi after gunmen stormed the building, blaming America for a film they said insulted the Prophet Mohammad. Obama said the attack was “outrageous and shocking” but insisted it would not harm relations with Libya’s new elected government, which took power in July. Protests have been held across the Arab World after clips of the poor quality and low budget anti-Islam film, entitled ‘Innocence of Muslims’, appeared on YouTube.
