Unsettled Robinho seals £22m AC Milan switch
ROBINHO yesterday spoke of his delight after ending his unsettled spell at Manchester City with a £22m move to AC Milan.
The Brazilian striker joined the Eastlands club in a British record £32.5m move from Real Madrid exactly two years ago today, but never lived up to the club’s lofty expectations, despite 14 goals in 41 starts.
He soon fell out of favour under then manager Mark Hughes and spent the latter half of the campaign on loan at his former club Santos, in Brazil.
Despite spending pre-season back at Eastlands with new boss Roberto Mancini, his future was never settled, prompting Milan to make their move.
Robinho teams up at the San Siro with Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who joined Milan on a loan deal from Barcelona on Monday, and fellow Brazilians Ronaldinho and Alexandre Pato.
A statement from AC Milan read: “AC Milan announces it has acquired player Robinho on a permanent deal from Manchester City.”
Robinho himself, expressed his delight at joining the Italian giants, adding: “I am very happy. Milan is an excellent club.”
