Unilever and ad:tech open $50,000 search for startup innovations with Next Big Thing competition
Unilever is on the hunt for fresh innovations, as the company is hoping to find new startups to team up with through the “Next Big Thing” competition, organised by ad:tech London.
15 startups will be shortlisted for the award, and at the final in October, they’ll get the change to pitch to brands and agencies. One lucky winner will win a $50,000 pilot with Unilever Foundry.
Keith Weed, chief marketing and communications officer at Unilever said that partnering with startups was an important “win-win scenario” for the company:
Unprecedented evolutions in marketing and technology require global brands to embrace innovation. We are determined to stay ahead of the game by experimenting with tech through initiatives such as The Next Big Thing.
Last year’s Next Big Thing was won by the content crowdsourcing platform Seenit, which has since run over 10 global campaigns with Unilever.
Startups can apply to take part in the competition until 6 September.
