Uber Eats adds pub grub to app including Toby Carvery and Miller & Carter
Uber Eats has added pub giant Mitchells & Butlers to its app offering
The partnership means 1,000 bars, restaurants and pubs – including Miller & Carter and Toby Carvery – will join the app by the end of the year.
What’s more, to celebrate the addition, Uber Eats is offering free delivery on pub dishes from Mitchell and Butlers pubs between 11 – 18 November 2021.
Eve Henrikson, EMEA general manager for delivery at Uber said: “Pubs across the UK have been resilient in dealing with closures over the past 18 months, and we want to help them thrive by adding home delivery to their business. Customers aren’t just using Uber Eats for a quick takeaway bite.
“Increasingly, we’re seeing people use the app to order sit-down meals for the whole family, and what better lunch or dinner with family and friends than some hearty pub grub.”
Pub group Mitchells & Butlers raised £350m in emergency funding after shareholders took control earlier this year.
The company, which also owns cocktail bar chain All Bar One, raised £350.5m through an open offer that saw it issue 167m new shares.
Restaurant groups- including Pizza Express and Honest Burgers -more than doubled their delivery and takeaway sales from pre-Covid levels in September.
Combined sales were 130 per cent higher than in September 2019, the CGA & Slerp Hospitality at Home Tracker revealed.
Sales were also 35 per cent higher than in September 2020, with signs that the reopening of dining in has not satiated Brits’ hunger for ordering food.
