Tube delays: Commuters face rush hour chaos on four lines after Baker Street signal failure
Severe delays hit commuters in rush hour today as a signal failure at Baker Street caused disruption across several lines in a tough morning for Londoners.
The fault led to severe delays on the Circle Line while the Hammersmith & City Line also suffered severe delays. Transport for London (TfL) urged commuters to use local buses instead.

The Metropolitan Line was also part suspended between Wembley Park and Aldgate due to the problem, with severe delays hitting the rest of the line.
Meanwhile the District Line was part suspended between High Street Kensington and Edgware Road because of a faulty train stuck at Paddington.
Today’s rush hour chaos comes days after TfL warned passengers at Bank station that they could face years of disruption as it prepares to shut a key part of the station down.
Commuters could contend with overcrowding at the already busy travel hub until 2022 when TfL closes the DLR concourse later this month.
The closure means DLR commuters will be directed through a one-way system that could be in place for three years to get out of the station.
TfL is shutting down the concourse in order to build three new Northern Line escalators.
Tube drivers have threatened widespread disruption across four London Underground lines if TfL does not take action to reduce noise levels on certain sections of track.
RMT union members backed action that stops short of a strike by a 95 per cent majority on the Jubilee, Central, Northern and Victoria Lines.

RMT general secretary Mick Cash said: “It is appalling that RMT driver members have had to resort to a ballot in order to force London Underground to take the issue of excessive track noise seriously.”
Action could include tactics like refusing to work any overtime in a bid to cause scheduling headaches for TfL bosses.
