YORKSHIRE FITNESS RETREATS
IF you’re looking for something to kick-start a spring fitness regime but don’t fancy crowded exercise classes and stuffy lunch-hour gym visits, you can find something a bit more relaxing and soulful with a break in the Yorkshire Dales. Natural Retreats, which runs a handful of swish, remote eco-cottages secreted into the countryside overlooking the Swale Valley, has teamed up with outdoor exercise specialist Natural Perspective to create some inspiring fitness weekends. Activities range from outdoor circuits to guided walks, challenge trails and flexibility workshops. And you get a healthy hamper. From £369pp, staring 25 March. See www.naturalretreats.com for info.
CORNWALL’S FOOD FESTIVAL
Foodie fans will have the chance to eat in some of Cornwall’s finest restaurants – including Nathan Outlaw’s newly-anointed two Michelin Star restaurant at the St Enodoc Hotel in Rock – for the same price of £18 for three courses across all the restaurants during Cornwall Spring Feast Fortnight. Starting this Friday, the food festival will see plenty of hotels involved, including Olga Polizzi’s gorgeous Hotel Tresanton in St Mawes, which hosts a Wild Food Weekend from 25-27 March, with foraging and picnicking aplenty.
