De Niro opens Locanda Verde in NYC
Robert De Niro has opened a new Italian in Tribeca, located within his hotel, The Greenwich. The idea is a “family style” taverna, with a starry twist, thanks to head chef Andrew Carmelli, protégé of celebrity cook Daniel Boulud. Carmellini is known for his pasta, which includes dishes such as green fettuccine with white pork and veal Bolognese. Other favourites include sheep’s milk ricotta, shrimp meatballs and porchetta with black kale. 377 Greenwich St, at N.Moore St, New York, NY 10013,

Black Legend Opens in Monaco
Monaco has a new supper club in the form of the Black Legend, in pole position opposite the yacht club. Based on the spirit of Motown music but deeply chic in that Monaco way, evenings here will begin with a live band and dinner followed by a DJ and dancing. A large terrace with view over the harbour, a Mediterranean-American menu and décor that harks back to 1970s Manhattan should guarantee the best of times as you dance into the night. www.black-legend.com
