Train delays on services to Gatwick Airport continuing this afternoon
Travellers making their way to Gatwick Airport may be having difficulty with timing, due to a series of unfortunate events that have led to delays on the line.
National Rail said a number of incidents which occurred this morning had led to congestion, including faults on a number of trains this morning, the emergency communication alarm being activated on a train at Gatwick Airport , a broken down train near London Blackfriars and a signal fault at London Victoria.
The frequency of services means short delays can quickly build up, the rail operator said, meaning trains may be cancelled or delayed by up to 25 minutes.
The rail operator said earlier that normal service would resume at midday, but has since said the disruption will continue until 15.00.
