Kirsh’s Tower 42 shoots up the City skyscraper rankings after becoming the tallest UK building with 4G
Property moguls love nothing more than one-upping each other with small victories, but one tycoon can celebrate a first after bringing 4G phone signal to one of London's older skyscrapers.
South African real estate tycoon Nathan Kirsh must be feeling pretty smug after his own victory. Kirsh’s Tower 42, only the seventh tallest building in the UK, is now the tallest building in the UK with 4G signal throughout the building.
The news means that the Leadenhall Building, Salesforce Tower and Shard could now fall in the rankings for the City's most desired office spaces.
The Tower 42 Estate, made up of six buildings on Old Broad Street including Tower 42 itself, has partnered with Vodafone to implement a fully integrated network coverage system.
Visitors and office workers at Tower 42, formerly known as the Natwest Tower, will now benefit from full signal across all 42 storeys of the iconic City skyscraper.
Philip Lewis at Kirsh Group said on behalf of the owner: “This building was at the forefront of new technology when it opened in 1981 and it will continue to lead the way.”
