Tough year ahead, warns CEBR
The UK economy grew by 1.8 per cent last year, yet growth will slow to 1.1 per cent this year, according to a forecast released today by the Centre for Economic and Business Research (CEBR). The CEBR revised down its predictions for 2011, which will be “the toughest year of the economic cycle,” it said. “The good news is that after 2011 we see growth returning, with GDP growth by 2015 of nearly three per cent,” said report author Douglas McWilliams.
