Top UK banker at Morgan Stanley quits
ONE of Morgan Stanley’s top London bankers has quit the firm just days after new chief executive James Gorman took over at the US bank.
London-based John Hyman, co-head of global capital markets, left the firm two weeks ago for personal reasons, and his departure was revealed in an internal conference call on Monday.
It is believed Morgan Stanley will not look for a successor but will give full responsibility to his New York-based counterpart Raj Dhanda.
Hyman was one of Morgan Stanley’s most senior London bankers. He had been co-head of global capital markets since July 2008 and was previously head of the bank’s European capital markets. He made his name during the 1990s as a technology investment banker before moving into equity underwriting.
The move comes after Morgan Stanley underwent a senior-management reshuffle.
