Tinder chief exec Sean Rad continues to reject The Capitalist, as the tech boss talks recruitment at Advertising Week
To Shaftesbury Avenue, where Tinder chief executive Sean Rad met with Cosmopolitan editor Farrah Storr to talk all about online presence, personal brands, recruiting and the dreaded game of romance.
Regular readers may remember The Capitalist's heartbreak when she matched with the tech boss on his own dating app, only to be abruptly unmatched when the subject of what we both did for work came up.
Speaking to marketers and media bosses as part of Advertising Week Europe today, Rad continued to ghost us. After days of phone calls and pleading, a spokesperson confirmed that "Sean will not be giving any interviews this week".
Rad told the audience that the idea for the app was motivated by the fact that it felt "weird" to approach people in real life, but added: "Success is ultimately defined by how much real-world interaction we can create".
So much for real world interaction.
The dating boss even distanced himself from our dalliance during the interview. For him, Tinder isn't simply a dating service, but also a database for headhunting tech types. Rad tells Storr that he sometimes recruits staff through Tinder matches.
The Capitalist is still waiting to hear whether our match was for business or, er, leisure.
