Robert and Vincent Tchenguiz are arrested by the SFO in connection with the collapse of Icelandic bank Kaupthing. After questioning they are released without charge. ●
● 15 March
Vincent Tchenguiz blames the SFO raid for his property Peverel Group entering administration, after Bank of America Merrill Lynch demands repayment of a loan within 24 hours
● 24 March
The SFO’s man on the Tchenguiz case – Mick Randall – resigns. On the same day, dozens of documents “seized in error” are returned to the brothers.
● 7 September
Vincent Tchenguiz hires Wikileaks’ founder Julian Assange’s barrister, Ben Emmerson QC, to launch a fresh attack against the Serious Fraud Office, claiming it breached his human rights
● 20 September
Vincent Tchenguiz settles his £1.5bn lawsuit against Kaupthing in a confidential deal he calls “mutually acceptable”
● 22 december
Vincent Tchenguiz says the Serious Fraud Office (SFO) has conceded that search warrants issued against him should be quashed.
