Thriller ahead for Michael Jackson fans
THE Character Group, which had a Christmas hit selling Go Go Pets, is aiming for another top festive toy with the launch of Michael Jackson dolls.
The company has won the UK licence to distribute four Jackson dolls made by Playmate Toys.
Two of the dolls will be launched in August and two more before Christmas. The plastic replicas will be in “iconic” poses of the late pop star and aimed at both fans and the collector’s market. The dolls are expected to have fully moveable arms and legs and will come with individual numbering and commemorative packaging.
Character chairman Richard King said: “Michael Jackson’s persona and performances were legendary and it is fantastic to be involved with an inspirational figure who entertained millions with the great music he created.”
He added: “We are confident that the dolls will be highly sought after by fans and collectors alike, and we look forward to launching the full range in time for Christmas sales this year.”
King said sales from the dolls would mainly be reflected in the firm’s 2011 financial year.
