These are the ten most powerful people in retail
Jeff Bezos, founder and chief executive of Amazon, has topped the list of the most powerful people in retail, compiled by Retail Week.
Sebastian James, group chief executive of Dixons Carphone, came second, and Mike Coupe, Sainsbury's chief executive, took third place.

Chancellor George Osborne was named the fourth most powerful person in the industry.
Bezos' nomination comes just days after Amazon rocked the retail world with its London launch of "Amazon Fresh", a food delivery service integrated into Amazon's general online offering.

The e-commerce giant threatens more traditional supermarkets who have struggled to conquer online food selling, and its site combines both locally sourced products as well as goods stocked in Amazon warehouses.
Chris Brook-Carter, editor-in-chief at Retail Week, said: "Jeff Bezos is the absolute stand out candidate to be recognised as retail's most powerful person for 2016.
