The INSIDER
Sun, Champagne and a winner is all you need at Chester tomorrow to have a fantastic day out. The winner should come in the form of CANSILI STAR (3.45pm, 5%) who will be on the pace coming out of stall two and can show his beating of Royal Ascot winner Treadwell at Epsom on Oaks day was no fluke.
MAMLOOK (3%) ran a blinder in the Chester Cup at the beginning of May and has been put up another four pounds by the handicapper. However, I don’t think the weight will be an issue in Saturday’s main event, the John Smith’s Northumberland Plate at Newcastle (3.05pm), and I can see David Pipe’s charge coming home just in front of Tim Easterby’s Deauville Flyer.
It might just be wishful thinking but I will be having a couple of pounds on England beating Germany 2-1 on Sunday (1%).
