Where will Team GB store their medals? This challenger bank has a solution…
It's a problem most of us could only dream of having – where does one store one's gold medals from the Olympics? Fortunately, a high street challenger bank has stepped up to the plate.
Metro Bank has revealed to City A.M. it is offering complimentary safe deposit boxes to all of Britain’s 2016 Olympic medallists.
"We are extremely proud of our incredible Team GB who have done us all proud at Rio this year, and I'd like to congratulate each of the participants,” commented Iain Kirkpatrick, managing director of retail banking at Metro Bank. "It's a hard-earned dream come true to compete at the Olympics, and to show our support we are offering complimentary safe deposit boxes to all medallists.
"We hope that the gift will serve as a reminder to all the winners just how proud Britain is of Team GB."

The challenger bank, which has said it will be contacting each medallist individually once they return to the UK, might want to clear some space. Team GB has brought home a total of 67 medals from Rio.
However, Metro Bank has plenty of experience, as it is the only bank to offer safe deposits at all of its stores, while the branches offer extended opening hours.
The bank's safe deposit boxes typically cost between £180 and £600 a year depending on size.
