Synergy finalises deal for 62 Airbus A320neo aircraft
Synergy Aerospace Corporation has finalised a deal with European plane-making giant Airbus to buy 62 A320neo aircraft, the two companies have announced.
The deal, announced at Farnborough Airshow, is valued at $6.7bn (£5.1bn) at current list prices and marks over 1,000 Airbus aircraft sold in Latin America.
Synergy is the largest shareholder of Colombia Avianca and owner of Avianca Brasil.

“Airbus is pleased to be surpassing 1,000 aircraft sold in Latin America with this order by Synergy, and we are proud that Avianca Brasil will rely on the unmatched productivity and fuel efficiency of the A320neo Family to renew its fleet and expand its network in South America,” said John Leahy, Airbus chief operating officer, Customers.
Meanwhile, Wizz Air has chosen US manufacturer Pratt & Whitney to power its order of 110 firm Airbus A320neo family aircraft with purchase rights for up to 90 more, in a deal worth $2.5bn.

Low-cost Chinese carrier Ruili Airlines has also finalised an order with Boeing for six 787-9 Dreamliners worth $1.6bn.

"The right size, long range, competitive fuel efficiency, as well as passenger appealing edge of the 787-9 make it an ideal fit in facilitating our international expansion plans."
