Supergroup strikes new deal to expand its presence into Asia
SUPERGROUP, the FTSE 250 company behind the Superdry fashion label, announced yesterday that it has struck a new partnership deal to expand its presence into Asia.
The company said it has signed a 10-year distribution agreement with FJ Benjamin, a luxury retailer in south east Asia, to grow the Superdry brand in Malaysia and Singapore.
The Singapore-listed group will open three Superdry stores in Kuala Lumpur, the Malaysian capital, by early 2014, including the first one at the popular Pavilion shopping centre in November this year.
Supergroup, which was founded in 2003 by its chief executive Julian Dunkerton, had 17 franchises and 42 concessions in Asia as at 28 June, at the time of its full-year results.
