Suarez expected to make recovery
LIVERPOOL midfielder Jordan Henderson expects club-mate Luis Suarez to be fit to play against England at the World Cup, despite undergoing knee surgery last week.
Uruguay’s all-time leading goalscorer is facing a race against time to prove his fitness ahead of the Group D clash with Costa Rica on 14 June, with England the South Americans’ next World Cup opponents on 19 June.
But Henderson said: “Knowing the type of person he is, he is a fighter and I am sure come maybe the first or second game in the World Cup he will be ready and raring to go.”
Manager Roy Hodgson received a boost ahead of Friday’s home friendly against Peru when Phil Jones and Jack Wilshere took part in training yesterday, but James Milner sat out with a cold.
