Starbucks launches new brews
STARBUCKS is unveiling a range of new filter coffees in the UK following the success of its “flat white”.
The coffee giant’s Starbucks Reserve is being touted as its smoothest brew ever.
It will be available at selected outlets and the Hix Restaurant and Champagne Bar in Selfridges on Oxford Street. There will be three different tpes of coffee available under the Grand Reserve banner –?with beans from El Salvador and Nicaragua.
Some of the coffee beans were cultivated in a volcano crater, while others have been matured for a fuller flavour. Prices will vary according to their rarity and will cost from £2.10 to £2.25 for a Tall 12oz cup, and £10.95 to £12.95 for a 226g bag to take home. The brews are available in London, Glasgow, Manchester, Bristol and Dublin only as stocks are limited to 5,000 cups on some beans.
Anthony Carroll, Starbucks chief coffee taster said: “Whilst the Latte and Cappuccino will remain the nation’s favourite, there is a growing fascination with single-origin filter coffee and since Starbucks has been selling wholebean coffee since 1971, we are perfectly placed to meet this trend.”
