Spurs show fight
TOTTENHAM (3) VS MAN CITY (0)
TOTTENHAM reignited their charge for a top four spot after inflicting only a second defeat of the season on fellow Champions League aspirants Manchester City.
Desperate to blot out the memory of Saturday’s shock home defeat by Wolves, Spurs came out fighting from the off and took a deserved lead on 37 minutes when Niko Krancjar tapped in after Stephen Ireland had blocked Peter Crouch’s header.
Harry Redknapp’s side deservedly doubled the lead on 54 minutes when Jermain Defoe superbly finished from eight yards for his 14th of the season.
Disjointed City never really threatened at the other end and Spurs even had time for a third – Krancjar driving in from the right and finishing well to cap an accomplished display.
