Spurs to mark Mackay death
TOTTENHAM have confirmed a minute’s applause will be held before tonight’s Premier League clash with Swansea at White Hart Lane in memory of former midfielder Dave Mackay, who died on Monday aged 80.
Ex-Scotland international Mackay joined Tottenham in 1959 and helped the north London club become the first English side to win the league and FA Cup double during the 1960-61 campaign.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino said: “He is a legend, big player and manager, and it is a very sad day. It is emotional yes. Our players know it is important to get the three points.”
