Sony’s new Xperia Z2 boasts Ultra HD video recorder
As the Mobile World Congress kicks off in Barcelona Sony has announced the Xperia Z2, with the tag line "details make the difference."
The Z2 boasts a number of improvements on its predecessor. The display is 0.2in bigger but the device is also lighter and colour reproduction has been upgraded. While the camera may be the same as the Z1, the Z2 offers Ultra HD (4k) video recording.
The Z2 includes digital noise cancelling technology, which Sony claims can reduce 98 per cent of ambient noise if used with the in-ear noise cancelling headset. Sony's headphones eliminate the need for their own batteries as they use the processing power of the Z2 itself.
The Z2 camera has also been enhanced by Steadyshot, which makes video play smoother. The Timeshift burst allows the user to take 61 photographs in as little as two seconds.
Graham Stapleton, UK & Ireland CEO, Carphone Warehouse, said:
Sony has announced an impressive range of devices this morning including its big hitter the Xperia Z2. The Z2 raises the bar for Sony and is a strong successor to the Z1. Sony clearly knows a thing or two about audio visual, sound and camera technology and they’ve put that expertise to good use, pulling out all of the stops with ultra high definition video recording and powerful camera, impressive screen technology with a full HD display and digital noise cancelling. On top of all of this the Z2 is waterproof like its predecessor: an attribute which is hugely popular with customers.
