Six of the world’s top performing chief executives are British
Six British business leaders have made a list of the worlds top performing chief executives, representing six per cent in the ranking of 100 bosses.
Two of the six Brits made the top 10, not far behind Amazon chief Jeff Bezos who was rated number one according to Harvard Business Review research.
David Pyott, head of pharmaceutical firm Allergan came in at number four, with Monsanto boss Hugh Grant not far behind at number seven. Both leaders have made the list as heads of non-British firms, while a further four Brit chief executives to make the list further down the rankings are leaders of British firms.
Boss of high street stalwart Next, Simon Wolfson, comes in at number 43, while Compass Group chief Richard Cousins is at number 65.
Associated British Foods chief George Weston also make the list at number 75, as does the boss of engineering firm Babcock, Peter Rogers, at number 79.
The ranking is based on data such as total shareholder return and market cap over their tenure at the top.
