Six new family homes to love in Wimbledon
AS TENNIS fans don their sunhats and grab a glass of champagne at centre court this week, a thriving community will be shopping and meeting for lunch a stone’s throw away in Wimbledon Village. In recent years, the area has become a veritable family hotspot. “Wimbledon is a true London village because the hill means it’s elevated from everything else,” says Clive Moon at estate agent Savills. “There’s a great local community. The children go to their local school, some of them go to the local churches and the parents meet each other in the local cafes. But we find the majority of buyers are coming from Chelsea and Wandsworth, moving out when they want to start a family for more space and better schools.”
Last weekend, developer Berkeley Homes unveiled a show home for a boutique residential development. Marryat Place is the address of six new semi-detached townhouses in a private cul-de-sac a short walk from the All England Club and Wimbledon Village Centre.
They are each designed with period facades with double height glass atriums. With four, five and six bedrooms and an au pair suite, there should also be plenty of room for new additions to the family.
Prices start from £2.5m. For viewings, call 020 3697 9330 or visit marryatplace.co.uk.
