Sir Tim Berners-Lee awarded Honorary Freedom of the City
Given that Sir Tim Berners-Lee gave us the world wide web and with it, freedom to find information, it’s fitting he received the Freedom of the City of London yesterday. But not just any old Freedom, an Honorary Freedom of the City – a title saved for heads of state and people of great standing in the world.
Here he is with Peter Kane, Chamberlain of London, in the Old Library at Guildhall taking his certificate. It’s about time, we say.
