Simon Cowell is Ladbrokes’ favourite to declare support for Vote Leave, as the bookmaker offers odds on the next eurosceptic celebrity
After the pressure group was named the lead Out campaign ahead of the EU referendum last week, Vote Leave has been bolstering its celebrity ranks.
Earlier this month, former Arsenal star and one-time mayoral hopeful Sol Campbell came out as a Brexiteer, while just this weekend England cricketer Ian Botham went in to bat for the Outers, saying Britain should "stand proud" as the referendum looms.
The Capitalist is reliably informed that the Stronger In campaign still has the most celebrities on its side, but Vote Leave tells us there are more eurosceptic celebs on the way, while bookmaker Ladbrokes has a few ideas on the next big name to back Brexit.
TV mogul Simon Cowell is the most likely showbiz figure to pledge support for Vote Leave, and is currently the bookies' favourite at 5/1.
Danny Dyer – passionate Twitter user, landlord of the Queen Vic, definitely not a mug – has slightly longer odds of joining the Brexit camp, at 10/1.
Meanwhile, reality star Kerry Katona is a relative Out outsider at 25/1, and the bookmaker thinks its unlikely the eurosceptic campaign will be able to get more support from British footballers.
It's 33/1 that David Beckham will back Brexit, while Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy is on even longer odds at 50/1.
Finally, while Buckingham Palace firmly denies Her Maj is anything but "politically neutral", Ladbrokes didn't rule out the possibility that she may see eye-to-eye with Vote Leave before the referendum. The Queen is on 100/1 to want out.
Of course it's all speculation for now. In the meantime, can you remember which celebrity wants to leave or remain? Take our quiz:
