Sharing economy gets upgraded to business
Schmoozing can be a bore but have you ever thought how much better networking would be on a private jet? US private flight company Rise is expanding to Europe, bringing their travel-cum-social experience to the UK. Members pay from £1,500 per month for the Private Flight Sharing concept, accessing unlimited flights to cities including London, Edinburgh and Paris with other members. Rise founder Aamer Sarfraz said: “You meet interesting people; like-minded members who want to meet and network.” All aboard!
Last week saw the grand opening of Broadgate Circle, the latest foodie hub and office playground to hit the Square Mile.
▀ And now they’re kicking off the City of London festival with a week dedicated to the Aegon Championships. The Summer Live season will be arriving at Broadgate, with a succession of fantastic free performances and live sporting action, as well as iconic film screenings on a big outdoor screen. All this week the Aegon Tennis Championships at the Queen’s Club will play on the big screen at Exchange Square. The venue is primed to show all of this summer’s key sporting action from Wimbledon to the Ashes. Best of all? The open-air screen won’t cost you a penny to watch. Just make sure you don’t bunk off work for too long. Meanwhile, the London Contemporary Theatre company is also getting in on the action, performing Wind in the Willows and Twelfth Night out in the open air on 1 and 15 August, respectively. Head of marketing, events and communications at Broadgate, Samantha Rush, said: “We’ve added theatrical performances and mini film festivals to our popular summer programme at Broadgate.” Don’t worry if theatre isn’t your thing though. Throughout June and July you can see a whole range of shows, from aerial acrobatics and high-energy dancing to circus performances. And if that wasn’t enough, Broadgate Circle is already getting a reputation for its burgeoning street food scene. There will be stalls and menus to satisfy your cravings. So there you go – whatever your tastes, you’ll never be bored in your lunch break again.
