Sevilla in record Europa title haul
SEVILLA secured a record fourth Europa League trophy after edging a thrilling contest against Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk 3-2 in last night’s final in Warsaw.
Colombia striker Carlos Bacca netted the winner, his second of the game, after former Blackburn forward Nikola Kalinic opened the scoring for the Ukrainians, while Ruslan Rotan and Grzegorz Krychowiak were also on target.
Unai Emery’s Sevilla side are the first to retain the Europa League trophy since it was rebranded in 2009, earning a much-coveted place in next season’s Champions League in the process.
Sevilla had initially missed out on qualifying for Europe’s premier league club competition after finishing fifth in La Liga.
