Server failure leaves CISI exam takers hanging over weekend
There will be a few well-bitten finger nails in the City this morning.
Wannabe traders and investment professionals currently taking the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) test had to wait until this morning to find out the results of their Friday exams. Scores are usually available as soon as an exam is over but they were left in the dark because the server was down.
CISI says it’s investigating the cause of the server issues, which meant most of the exams were done manually rather than digitally. It’s a good job the digitally native underlings remember how to use a pencil.
■ It may have been a stormy weekend but Action for Kids is bringing the sun back today with the opening of its beach volleyball court in Wood Wharf. The top eight British teams will be battling it out this weekend but us mere mortals can also get involved.
The court can be booked for individuals at £10 each per hour but, more importantly, there’s a corporate tournament coming up on 18 July. Barclays has already thrown its budgie smugglers in the ring; you and your colleagues could too. Teams of 10 are asked to raise £200 per person for entry to the corporate battle, which takes place in three weeks. Ready to kick some sand up for a good cause?
