SERCO’S ADVISERS ON THE INTELENET DEAL
THOUGH most of the work on Serco’s deal to buy Intelenet was done in India, magic circle law firm Linklaters advised the outsourcer on the UK aspects of the purchase.
Leading the team was William Buckley (pictured above), who joined Linklaters as a trainee solicitor in 1990 before working his way up to partner in 1999.
He recently led the legal team advising Capital Shopping Centres on its £1.6bn Trafford Centre purchase – the UK’s largest single property deal. He also led the Linklaters team acting for Standard Chartered’s biggest shareholder Temasek in the bank’s £1.78bn rights issue in 2008.
Managing associate Sevi Hebbur joined Linklaters in 2005 and has advised on many deals including BPCL’s equity sale to Oman Oil.
Indian law firm Talwar Thakore & Associates, which has a deal with Linklaters for Indian work, advised Serco from its Mumbai office. Indian investment bank Avendus also worked for Serco during the sale.
