Selfie fever hits London hotel
Kim Kardashian, P Diddy, Barack Obama and Kelly Brook. What do they all have in common? They love a good selfie. And from today, Swish St James’ hotel Conrad is offering selfie sticks to all their guests as part of a new marketing campaign.
These can either be ordered from the minibar at £12 each, or included in the hotel’s £320 #Selfie Package, which also includes a one night stay and breakfast.
The sticks are taking over all the tourist hotspots and iconic sites. One hotel offered prizes on Twitter. Hashtag #AdoreThySelfie.
▀ Last night saw one of the most Shoreditch foodie events so far this year, as the bright young things of London’s food and music set descended on Broadgate Circle.
Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw was on decks, Kidulthood actor Jamie Winestone danced, London society girl and TV presenter Donna Air chatted with fashion guru and singer Brix Smith-Start while Made in Chelsea’s Millie Mackintosh found a quiet corner with husband and rap star Professor Green. The list of pop-up eateries will read like a who’s who of caterers to the London mid-market crowd: Franco Manca, Street Kitchen, Shoryu Ramen and Beany Green. Fans of the exclusive Chinese restaurant Hakkasan, favoured by the likes of Princess Beatrice, will be thrilled to learn that the creators are launching a cafe and patisserie at the hub in the Circle’s amphitheatre – a little slice of Hoxton in the lunch hour.
