Cristiano Ronaldo paid over €1m for a single day’s sponsorship work by Saudi Arabian firm
Cristiano Ronaldo was named as the best-paid footballer in the world last year and leaked documents have shed light on just how he makes his fortune with lucrative off the pitch endorsements.
The Real Madrid superstar appears to have been received over €1m from a Saudi Arabian telecom company for just a single day's work of sponsorship commitments.
Wikileaks-style website Football Leaks have published a commercial contract signed between Ronaldo and Mobily that states the former Manchester United man was paid the equivalent of £860,000 for making two promotional posts on social media, signing five Portugal shirts and modelling for a corporate photo shoot which included a meet and greet.

No wonder then, that Ronaldo has recently been named as the most marketable athlete on social media.
In 2014, sports marketing group Repucom estimated that the average Facebook post from one of Ronaldo's social media accounts was worth almost £100,000 such is the size his online following.
Ronaldo named as the second highest-paid player in the world behind Lionel Messi last year by France Football, who claimed his salary and endorsements combined pocketed him €54m.
