Sarah Everard death: Wayne Couzens pleads guilty to rape and kidnap
A serving British police officer has admitted the rape and kidnap of Sarah Everard, whose body was found a week after she disappeared walking home in London in March.
Couzens, 48, a London officer whose role was to guard diplomatic premises, told the Old Bailey that he accepted responsibility for killing Everard but did not enter a plea while medical reports were being prepared, the BBC reported.
Last week, a post-mortem found that Everard died from compression of the neck.
The 33-year-old marketing executive went missing as she walked home from a friend’s house in Clapham on 3 March.
She was found a week later in a Kent woodland following a major Metropolitan Police investigation.
